Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), especially those caused by atherosclerosis, are the number one cause of death globally. CVDs' diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation take centre stage in modern cardiology.
Polish cardiology, represented by the renowned authorities, has been participating in planning and conducting clinical studies together with the leading centres in Europe and the USA for more than 15 years. Owing to the involvement in the best clinical trials, Polish centres have been gaining access to the most advanced techniques, e. g. research in the field of application of stem cells in cardiac regeneration or implementation of new stenting methods into clinical practice.
American Heart of Poland has been actively participating in the development of Polish cardiology and cardiac surgery also by testing new methods within its Centre for Cardiovascular Research and Development and implementing them into clinical practice. Polish interventional treatment of myocardial infarction became a pattern to follow for medical professionals globally.
The procedures at American Heart of Poland are performed at the highest level, being on par or even exceeding the procedures carried out in the best centres in Europe and the USA. The treatment techniques, way that surgeries are organized and treatment schemes are very modern and innovative, sometimes available exlusively at American Heart of Poland in this region.
Cardiology diagnostics and treatments offered at American Heart of Poland:
- interventional treatment of acute coronary syndromes (myocardial infarction, unstable angina)

What is cardiac rehabilitation?
Cardiac rehabilitation is a professionally supervised set of activities aiming at prophylaxis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), improving patients' quality of life, slowing disease progression, and reducing mortality rate connected with future cardiovascular events. Professionally supervised cardiac rehabilitation following any type of surgery helps achieve best therapeutic results and is a key element of patient's recovery.
Cardiac rehabilitation: for whom?
The majority of our rehabilitation patients includes patients after cardiac events (e.g. heart attack or acute coronary syndrome), who are recovering from heart bypass surgery (Coronary Artery Bypass Graft – CABG) or coronary angioplasty.
Cardiac rehabilitation at American Heart of Poland is also popular among patients suffering from heart failure or arrhythmias. People of all ages, at high risk of developing cardiovascular diseases, will also benefit from a cardiac rehab program.
